P90X - Round 2, Day 40 - Legs/back and AbRipper X (ugh!)

Wow. I felt like I had never done this workout before, last night!! I've never really liked this workout, but I couldn't keep my balance, my knee hurt, my motivation sucked, and this morning??...yeah, SORE as HELL-O!!!! Now, on a good note, I'm sore in all the right places. I just have to whine a bit, 'cuz I really hate legs and back (...but I LOVE it!). Then..on the other side of the room, we find Alana bouncing and squatting like no body's business! She's ALWAYS been able to kick my butt at leg workouts!

So word has been getting around within my industry (work) here in the Denver metro area. Apparently, sales reps (among the different Durable Medical Equipment companies) talk! I had met with a sales rep about a month ago, and she was asking how I had made such a drastic change in my body. So we ended up talking P90X. Then yesterday, another sales rep from a different company, came in just to talk about P90X. He had already completed the program and was wondering, now what??? So, we talked a bit about the P90X+ program. One of the things he mentioned about P90X: he has always been a 'runner', but had never been able to attain the body he wanted. Even as 'active' as he was. He said that P90X was "just what he needed" to get him going in the right direction. He also mentioned that he has NEVER been in as good of shape, as he was when he finished the program....hmmm....sounds familiar!

P90X is NOT a gimmick. P90X works! If you're interested in learning more, click here! :O)

P90X - Round 2, Day 39 - Cardio X

I still can't believe how SORE I am after hitting chest/shoulders/triceps from the other night! WOW! It seems like all the moves in this cardio workout were just stretching me out. Growing the muscles. Felt GREAT! Alana was back working out with me last night, which DEFINITELY helps on the motivation/competition front! You know..."up's" the intensity BIG TIME!

Not to sound conceited or anything, but it is SOOOOO weird to be in this healthy lifestyle. For years I've eaten whatever I wanted, been pretty much IN-active (or when I tried physical activity, I would suck more air than a fish out of water!), and lifted weights, thinking I was healthy and exercising. WRONG. The P90X program has shown me what a true healthy lifestyle is. During this past long holiday weekend, I ate what I wanted (and drank what I wanted too!), did a little bit of activity, yet when I look in the mirror, none of it shows! AND I still feel great! I STRONGLY encourage everyone who hasn't given P90X a try, to do it! It WILL change your life!! :O)

P90X - Round 2, Day 34, 35, 36, 37, and 38- Camping...and Chest/Shoulders/Tris

So....Memorial Day weekend. Opening day for camping season! We headed out to Heaton Bay, which is located about an hour from where I live, in Frisco, CO. It's a great campground just on the bank of Lake Dillon Reservoir. The weather wasn't the greatest, as it would rain for 10 minutes. Stop for 20 minutes. Rain for 20 minutes. Stop for 10 minutes...this went on ALL weekend. We did see the sun for a grand total of about 22 minutes. I think we even shot a few pictures while the sun was out! We had fun fishing (didn't catch anything...but is that really what fishing is about anyway??). I came up with the bright idea to send all of the kids on a scavenger hunt. So we made a list of 14 items for the kids to go in search of. The idea was to have a little adult (i.e. quiet) time. Who knew a lady bug would be so easy to find!? And a coin?? We've got such resourceful kids! Here's a few of the pics....don't mind the "date stamp". Forgot to reset the camera after draining the battery...oops!

NOW...We're back in town. At home. No excuses. Ready to BRING IT! Tonight: Chest/Shoulders/Triceps and AbRipper X. Technically, we're in Phase 2, week 6, so I should have one of these workouts under my belt already. However, I don't think I've actually done this workout in a while! I LOVE it!! I was feeling soooo pumped after this workout I was gonna post some pictures. But then I saw Jeremy's 'back' picture. WOW dude. What results....Not to be outdone (and even more so, that no one is awake to take any pics right now), I shot some video of the plyo-push ups being done. This was taken sometime during round one of the "X". I didn't quite hit 14 of those puppies tonight, but I'll be there again soon!

P90X - Round 2, Day 33 - Movie night!

OK. So I'm not gonna beat myself up any more over missing a workout here and there. In fact, I'm not sure why I put "Day xx" above...Don't worry. My motivation hasn't left me. I've just realized (call me slow) that this P90X thing has become a part of me. It's not something you do for 90 days and then say, "OK. I'm done. Now what?"...Although I missed last night, and went to a movie, I looked back at everything I did yesterday. I didn't sit around and do nothing. I was active. I was moving. Going through the first 90 days was just kind of a "wake up" call for me. As Demi Bean and Christina Branson say in their posts, we are now athletes. If you want to learn how to get started transforming your life and lifestyle, contact me.

Now for my movie review: Terminator Salvation. Ehh. It was pretty good. Not the FANTASTIC summer blockbuster I was hoping for, but pretty good. Just hearing the Terminator music alone was well worth the ticket price for me! I'm weird that way. I won't give anything away, but I will tell you Jeremy: wait for the DVD. It'll sound GREAT on your surround sound! I guess the whole movie experience was kinda ruined for me after the movie was over. I returned to my car, to find that it had been broken into, and my $500 Alpine stereo system had been ripped out of the car...along with a $300 Navigation system. Soooo, I spent an extra hour talking with our friendly neighborhood law enforcement officer...Was the movie worth $800??? No.

Off today for a weekend of camping! Have a great holiday weekend everyone!!!

P90X - Round 2, Day 32 - Plyometrics

Well I didn't think I'd get through this one alone. Alana bailed again and opted for sleep. She's trying to fight off whatever cold I had!

I have to give my thanks to my buddy Vince, for motivating me tonight. He came by the house tonight for a bit, and we talked P90X. He wanted to see all of my progress photos that I took (i.e. 30/60/90 days). I showed him our workout area (i.e. the living room!). Showed him our equipment (a few dumbbells). And I showed him how easy it was to track his food intake. He was jazzed. I was jazzed. It seems like a lifetime ago, I was an out of shape, 210 lbs, lazy, unmotivated, beer drinking, Doritos eating guy. WOW...what a difference 90 days can make. He's now on day 3 and feeling better than he ever has! You can too! Check it out here.

So...anyway, I say "Thanks" to Vinnie for getting me through Plyo tonight! I hate it, but I love it!

P90X - Round 2, Day 31 - Back, Biceps and AbRipperX

WOW! What a difference a day makes!! Or is it the antibiotics?? Anyway....I hit this workout HARD tonight! I got caught up on reading all of the posts I've been neglecting (Jeremy, Christina, Demi, Rob and Barb, and MissResa!) and MAN was I ever motivated tonight! Weird thing though...I petered out during the AbRipper portion! Weird. It wasn't my abs that gave out, I just found it hard to breath...relax....I'm a Respiratory Therapist! I'm not gonna kill myself. I just decided it was time to stop. No harm, no foul. Right? After all...I'm technically still sick!

Anyway....here's the "money shot" post workout! I'm trying to be able to host my own show. What show you might ask??????

:O)

P90X - Round 2, Day 30 - STILL Nothing!

OK. Let me just say: Holy CRAP!!!! What's going on here??!!

Girls, thanks for the motivating comments. They've actually rung out in my head, as I'm trying to recover from this crappy cold/sinus infection, whatever it is!! Funny thing is, now that I've gotten my diet back on track, my workouts are suffering!! Alana and I will definitely be working out tonight. I'm feeling a bit better today. Had the antibiotics for a day now....

The craziness doesn't seem to be slowing down any. Thursday night we have Terminator: Salvation opening (late night, I'm sure!). Friday we head off to the mountains camping for 3 days. Still have tons to get done before we head to the hills! AND...let's not forget work! Shhheeeeez....

Have a great day guys!

P90X - Round 2, Day 27, 28 & 29 - Nothing!

OK...honesty check here. Friday we skipped Yoga, and I can't even remember why!! Saturday we went out to dinner with friends, and Sunday I just plaint felt horrible! So? How do you like the excuses?? There's plenty out there! :O)

We actually should have done chest, shoulders and triceps last night (my favorite workout!!), but we've all been trying to fight off some kind of bug floating through our home. Me, having the weakest immune system in history, ended up taking the brunt of it. No fever, but head congestion, cough, sneezing, runny nose....yeah, a bad cold! Alana has been at work since Saturday, working a 4 day stretch!! (ouch)

Back to work for me today (if they let me stay, with this cold!). I'll try and get caught up on everyone's blogs today!! Hope everyone is doing well....

P90X - Round 2, Day 26 - Core Synergistics

Just dropping a quick post to say "I'm still here", and "I did Core last night". Great workout last night. Alana joined me for the first time in a few days and it was great! The competition was ON! This is a cardio workout though, so all-in-all, she probably kicked my butt! But I think I hung in there pretty good!!

Running late...gotta go! Have a GREAT day everyone!! :O)

P90X - Round 2, Day 24 & 25 - Kenpo/Stretch

MAN..behind AGAIN! Anyway....had a GREAT Kenpo workout yesterday. Alana had to work late, so she bailed, but I think my intensity was pretty high, ever without her motivation for this one! Must have been, 'cuz I sweat TONS! Of course I had just watched Death Race, so I guess I needed to take out a little aggression....poor 'air'!

Tonight I did the Stretch X DVD. I just love the way you feel after this one....like a bowl of jello! Jello...mmmm......Anyway. I'm a little worried what next week will bring. My left wrist has been having a bunch of pain in it. It's almost unbearable just hanging out in the "plank" position. I was hoping that the Stretch would loosen it up a bit, but it hasn't...yet.

P90X - Round 2, Day 23 - Core Synergistics

WHAT???!!! From Day 18 to day 23??

OK, OK...so I've fallen down on my posting duties. Sorry. But, yes. Day 23. Alana and I are into our first rest week since starting round 2 of P90X. Has it really been that long since I did this workout? Man was this ever a sweat-fest tonight!! Alana didn't make the workout. She was in bed at 6PM tonight. She helped our friend Jaycee, deliver their third daughter. Unfortunately, it started at 10:30PM last night, and then little Morgan came around 3:30AM. Alana got home around 5AM this morning and was asleep by 5:02AM...oh, and did I mention she worked a 12 hour shift at the hospital the day before...on Mother's Day???? (What a GREAT wife and mother we have in her!!). So, I believe she had a well deserved night off! PLUS....yeah she's working again tomorrow.

Hey, if you guys haven't stopped in to meet Rob and Barb, please do so! They need everyone's encouragement! As most of you know, you can't do this extreme workout program all on your own! We need each other!

Everyone welcome Dr. Rob and Barb to the "X"

Hey guys...Jeremy called today to make sure I wasn't dead (you know...since I haven't posted in a while), and I'm glad to say, "I'm NOT dead!"... :O)

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Dr. Rob and his wife Barb have started blogging about their journey with P90X! I've had so much support from everyone here, I just wanted to send everyone a quick note to be sure and stop in and say "hi" to them!

WELCOME GUYS!!

P90X - Round 2, Day 18 - Cardio X

Once again, with the busy schedule...we opted for the Cardio X workout. You know, Alana and I both were feeling good during this workout, and I think we did probably twice as much as they did in the DVD! Are they really bringin' it during this DVD?? Oh well...we "burned the goo" to the MAX!

Short post...gotta go get caught up on everyone else's blogs!! SEE YA! :O)

P90X - Round 2, Day 17 - Shoulders, arms and ARX

OK. I proved Tony wrong. I did 26 side-tri rise on at the end of the workout, and he did not come to my house!! He said he would! Oh well....

I actually moved up in weight on ALL my triceps exercises. WOO HOO! I've always been a big fan of triceps exercises. You know, the glamour muscles everyone wants?? Most people always focus on biceps exercises, but the triceps make up 2/3 of your arm size...so hit your tri's people!!

Also...finally...FINALLY! I did ALL 25 of those %&^)*! Fifer Scissors! 349 ab ripping exercises...in the books!

Also...my cousin Jared just purchased the P90X program, and he's getting psyched to BRING IT big time!! I'm gonna try and get him blogging so he can take advantage of all of the GREAT support that I've received from all of you guys! Wish me luck!

P90X - Round 2, Day 16 - Plyometrics

Alana asked while we were doing this workout last night, "Does this workout EVER get any easier!"...my answer: no. Once again, the sweat fest was on! She can still "bring it" WAY better than I (thanks to my wimpy legs!), then again, I am way better at this than when I first started. Easier? No. Just better....make sense?

So I'm hearing that more and more people are checking out P90X and BeachBody. Well...quit checking it out! Get on board!! Summer's coming and if you want to get ripped, get started! There's plenty of us that are available coaches for you, including myself. Check out Jeremy, Christina or Fred, as well!

P90X - Round 2, Day 15 - Chest, Back and ARX

Starting week 3, round 2 of P90X. Time flies when you're having fun!! CRUSHED this workout last night. I don't know where all the energy came from (maybe I needed that day of nothingness yesterday!!), but I was feeling good last night for this workout! 274 push ups. 50 pull ups (chair free!). 249 ab ripping exercises....felt great! Alana was feeling pretty good herself, and did more than her usual numbers!

I'm finding that with this new healthy lifestyle, pretty much anything I put into my body is getting incinerated! Since starting round 2, I haven't been very strict with my diet, over the weekends. Although, I'm still losing, or maintaining my weight of around 185lbs - 190lbs.

Still bringing it!!!

P90X - Round 2, Day 14 - Rest

So I wasn't going to post anything for my rest day...cuz'....I seriously did NOTHING! But, I did go to the dollar show with a buddy of mine to see the movie Taken. That movie was AWESOME! He kicks butt as good Jason Bourne!! And did anyone else catch it when he used the "Sword/Hammer" move on one of the bad guys?? Like Tony says, "...wanna end the fight?" :O) Anyway...good movie. I highly recommend it!

P90X - Round 2, Day 13 - Kenpo X

Kick. Punch. Swing. SWORD, HAMMER! I love it!! I seriously think that I could take down ANYone with that sword/hammer move!! Think being the key word there! I sent Alana to bed around 7:30PM. She has just had a rough week and not gotten much sleep. And we all know how grumpy people get without sleep, right? So...I gave her a pep talk about "not worrying about missing a workout or two...get some sleep!"...

After the workout, I thought I'd play a little XBOX, but my network connection wasn't working. After I finally got it up and running, I played for about an hour, then another buddy of mine wanted to go see Wolverine. It was another one of those "he really needed to get out of the house" moments, so I couldn't let him down. Soooo, we went to the midnight showing. GREAT movie by the way! I'm a huge fan of the super hero movies, and this one didn't disappoint! ..And "yes", I ate MORE of the BAD, BAD popcorn at the movie theater.

Speaking of that...I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I'm thinking that I'm in need of a diet adjustment. I'm pretty sure that my body is now burning up everything that I put in it!! I weighed in this morning at 185 lbs!!! Yikes! I'm thinking I'll be upping the calories here sooner than later!

RedDawg: if you're up Saturday night, look for me on XBOX! (hint-hint) :O)
